The Grand Central
The Grand Central Terminal was designed by Solon Spencer Beman for the Wisconsin Central Railroad. It was built due to the fatal accident that occurred on January 8, 1902, when a commuter train travelling from Westchester County crashed into another incoming train. Grand Central has beautiful chandeliers, lighting fixtures and an an iconic clock centered in the middle of the main concourse. The clock alone is a beautiful work of art that is worth around $10 Million and filled with other amazing art such a sculpture of an eagle that crowns the back entrance of the terminal. Thousands of people visit Grand Central everyday! Tourists, locals, and people from out of state all commute through the Grand Central. It is beautiful, with amazing history and I am glad to say that I use it everyday.
